Les Twins Interview (or more like ‘Le Larry interview while Le Laurent is sulking in a corner’) @ Incroyable Talent - Translation
Larry: The finale looked like an arena. It was more like a real dancing stage; I could see my reflection on the ground, everything. We knew all eyes were on us, that France was watching us. Right now, I realize it was something important for the finale.
Judge: Bravo! Of your 3 shows, this one was the most achieved and the best of all. Bravo! That’s a real evolution.
Judge 2: That mirror idea you’ve got here is a real good one for a show. You need to think about it because it’s an exceptional idea.
Voice: But on this evening, they will not reach the ultimate place; the audience will vote them 6th over 12 places.
Laurent: To tell you the truth, first off, I was really disappointed by our position in the ranking.
Voice: Perhaps the twins had everything it takes to win, but it didn’t stop them to get contracts at the end of Incroyable Talent, and not the lesser of all.
Larry: It’s true we’ve gotten lots of contracts, and the first one we got after Incroyable Talent was with the Trévise!
So I’m right here, one of the two…
Voice: Being at the top of the bill of such a great Parisian theater as the Trévise is a true consecration for Larry and Laurent. And even when being two minutes away from entering on stage, Les Twins can’t help acting silly. Nervosity is unknown to them, so much they sometimes forget about some details.
Eric Checco (producer): knee pads, mannequin, wig, hat…You got everything?
Larry: Yah, I think so.
Eric Checco: C’mon, let’s go!
Voice: Since then, Les Twins not only made a name for themselves in Hip-Hop but they also attract a wider audience.
Larry: Since we’ve been mediatised thanks to Incroyable Talent, we don’t need to say who we are whenever we go some places; that’s magical too.
Yeah, the fact that we are reknowned means we got what we wanted. We didn’t really want to get known, but being reknowned means that whenever people hear about ‘Les Twins’, they know who we are.

Les Twins Exclusive Interview About Dancing For Beyonce
On 29 May, 2011
French dancers Les Twins were not schedule to attend World of Dance Tour NYC but they graced us with their presence. They spent most of their time in the Brooklyn Tech hallway taking pictures with fans and entering playful dance battles. They seemed overwhelmed by how many fans wanted pictures and autographs. The NYC crowd showed them so much love and gave them a good workout because they were drenched in sweat by the end of the night. I wasn’t expecting to see Les Twins or do any interviews so I didn’t bring the best camera. When I saw Laurent on my way out I knew it was either now or never.
The video is very poor quality but I tried to ask questions the fans would want to know. He was very sweet and open about meeting Beyonce and his family (he showed me a video of his niece). We also had a brief conversation about the dancers who used their routine on “So You Think You Can Dance” auditions.
The crew on “So You Think You Can Dance” copied your routine and now everyone’s wants them to get kicked off.
Laurent: Nobody know how much hard work, It’s not because like today all the dancers who know me I stop (say hello) no, because I walk like a bad guy, like him, like him, like him (he points to the guys from Mos Wanted Crew)
These guys are the real deal.
Laurent: He’s a real good dancer, he works 24 hours. I don’t want to stop too, I work 24/7.
How did you get on the Billboard Awards?
Laurent: Billboard Awards….
One of the guys from Mos Wanted ask if he touch the booty
Laurent: (Turns Around) Of Course
Mos Wanted Crew: OHHH (laughing)
Laurent: For Dance, For Dance, I respect her, I respect Jay-Z and I don’t want no problems with her.
Laurent: Before that I see Beyonce on T.V. hear her song and I never like said “this girl is really good’. When you watch her live or in the studio she dances 100%. (He was trying to explain that he gained more respect for her when he saw how hard she works and dances in person. He also liked when she fell on stage because she got back up and started dancing.)
What happened the first time you met Beyonce?
Laurent: First time I see her is for the video Run The World (Girls) video set. I come their 4 hours later (he missed his fight). I’m like shit I’m too late (he feels she gonna be mad and not want to see them). I go their, I see her, when she sees me she says “You’re Les Twins”. She says “Oh my God I love your style”, she didn’t say she loves me, she said she “love you all”, she love my dance….. and I dance for her. When I see her first time in the studio dance, Oh My God, when she walks (he goes on to describe her presence).
Where Is the Les Twins going next?
Laurent: No, I stay in the U.S. for four years, I’m from Paris and I’m never in Paris (Russia, Japan, Taipei, Australia). Everywhere like him (points to Lando Wilkins of Mos Wanted Crew)
Laurent: You’re not from New York.
Lando Wilkins of Mos Wanted Crew: No, I’m from Long Beach/San Diego
Laurent: He never stays there
Laurent: I love my country, I love Paris. I left my family for four years for the tour for the movies for everything.
Doesn’t your Mother Miss you?
Laurent: I want to see my niece, I miss my niece, my niece is beautiful, and do you want to see her (he shows us a video of the baby on his phone). Don’t pick my phone (I think he meant don’t steal his phone number).
My brother ask if that’s his sister’s or brother’s child
Laurent: Oh my God, I have a lot brothers and sisters. I never take the class (dance class) in my life never, I dance (He just watches his brothers and sisters dance).
Who dances better you and your Twin or someone else in you family?
Laurent: Today my brother is better than me.
We all go crazy over how pretty his niece is (she has blue or light green eyes)
Laurent: She’s really pretty, I told you. Don’t pick my phone girl.
Don’t worry I won’t, you trying to steal my number.
Laurent: I love her (his niece)
What’s her name?
Laurent: Edwon (I don’t think that’s how you spell it)
Laurent: Edwon knows I love her
You guys love kids.
You guys have a lot of brothers and sister.
Laurent: You don’t know how much I have the brother and sister; you don’t know how much I have the niece and nephew.
A lot of girls love you, that’s why I’m making this video.
Laurent: Oh God
Laurent: New Style
You did her hair
Laurent: No, this is my sister’s baby
He shows us another video of his niece, his sister is putting her hair in a Mohawk.
Laurent: It’s O.K, It’s O.K, this is my phone O.K. (pulls his phone back jokingly)
Sorry, Sorry
Laurent: I’m gonna go back and dance, I’m in World of Dance New York
How can we find you? You guys don’t have a Tour List we have to search for you, Follow You and Stalk You.
He turns to my brother and says “she ask too much questions, I don’t know her, she ask me all questions.
Laurent: Stop it

Laurent interview (Extreme games Belarus) →
On “EXTREME GAMES BELARUS 2011 came the legendary duo of Les Twins . It was impossible to miss the moment and talk with the guys. Allthough their enghlish isn’t very good, one of the brothers - Laurent - could tell a lot of interesting things, while his twin brother admired the beauty of the Belarusian girls
- Laurent, how do you like “Dance Evolution 2011”?
- It’s very hot! Almost too much. But it’s good! It was cold outside, but on the dance floor is very hot (laughs)!
- What are the tips would you give our dancers?
- I will not say one way or dance that way. I’m not
your judge. Just dance!
- Do you feel like a star?
- I would not say to myself, “I’m a superstar!” No, I
do not like. For me, the real stars are people like Jamie Foxx,
Michael Jackson, Will Smith.
Will Smith - my idol. I just love it!
I can not say to myself that I’m a star. In Russia, Japan,
Australia, France, Germany, Italy, USA … I’m sure everyone
knows me there. And I’m gonna swing!Download as a bad
guy! Because if I work like everyone else, I will stay at the same
level. Then I’ll dance my whole life, just like today. But every
day I’ll swing, working together with his brother. Without sleep! I
do not care what you think about me, it’s my life.- Can you explain what dance means to you?
- Imagine if I did not even know the basics. Guys say to me: “it’s
not hip-hop - that you’re dancing because you’re not familiar
with the base.” I’m dancing in the street, I’m dancing in my
room, dancing with his brothers and sisters.
And if I see a man dancing with all his heart - I love it!
But if he dances for the audience or judges, or art …
I do not care about technique! It’s just my soul, I love
hip-hop. Do I cook that if any? Cook in a restaurant that
prepares each dish on a particular recipe?
No, I do not care recipes! I dance for the people, for myself, for
friends, for my brother for his mom … everything that happens in
my life, is reflected in the dance.
When I’m really happy, you will feel it in my dance. When I’m
very, very angry, you will see it in my dance too. You’ll know my
life, if you watch my dance. In me, there are many personalities,
about five, maybe. I know it’s not very good. Only when I’m
dancing, Laurent is Laurent.
- Can you say approximately how many times a day you’re
dancing?- I have never in my life said: “I am go to the gym to
practice/exercise” Never!
I have had no lessons in life that have not visited dancing. My
first dance lesson was when I am learned to walk. Whew! I just
dance. I joke on myself. Sometimes I watch cartoons and see
which it possible to dance. Someone might say it’s stupid. And
I can’t do it.
- What would you do if you suddenly couldn’t dance
anymore? Well, for example, hurt your leg …
- For example? My leg is broken. I have a torn ligament. I did not
go to the hospital. Friends have told me that I stayed in Paris,
but I first went to Miami, and now I’m here. Nothing can ever
stop me! I will dance, even while sitting, even if I have no
legs. No, I’m not afraid. Why should I be afraid? Of course, it’s
dangerous and some of my movements are just insane. I’m just
like the players in basketball, hockey, baseball. But I firmly
believe if you want to, you’ll be dancing … with feet or without.(via dame-de-lotus)

Tell me about your dance history as briefly as possible?
I’ve been dancing since I was 2 years old, now I’m 22. I started to dance on my own when I was 5 and when I turned 9 years old, I decided I wanted to be a top dancer.
Wow you decided to be a top dancer at the age of 9. That’s…
